First Post/I Made a Friend

My psychiatrist has recommended I make a blog or a journal to detail all the interesting experiences I have had. She suggested it would be good to put myself out there. Normally I don’t care much for her advice, but I must admit the idea spoke to me. My biggest trouble for me was where to start. I had contemplated making a post about the sciences of deduction or perhaps something about one of the cases I have solved in the last decade. But then, something extraordinary happened today. I made a friend.

But then, something extraordinary happened today. I made a friend.

Perhaps introductions are in order now, to explain why this was so extraordinary. My name is Sherlock Holmes. I am 34 years old, I am London’s only consulting detective, and I was diagnosed with autism at a very young age. Social interaction is somewhat difficult, but it’s not impossible for me. I tend to come across as cold at best and rude at worst. Before today, there was only one person in my life I would consider my friend. But we can get to her at another point. For now, I want to focus on Doctor John Watson.
